Scottish Government Consultation on Review of Contract Law

In 2018, the Scottish Law Commission published  a Report on Review of Contract Law: Formation, Interpretation, Remedies for Breach, and Penalty Clauses.  The Scottish Government have published a consultation about this Report.  The consultation is seeking views as to whether circumstances have changed since the Report was published and whether the views previously expressed still hold.   Details of the consultation can be found on the Scottish Government website - Scottish Law Commission - contract law review report: consultation - gov.scot (www.gov.scot).  The Scottish Government consulting on the Report in this way is a helpful step forward and it is hoped that this may lead to reform of contract law.
